Our story

The Dewhurst family have lived in Fairwarp for 21 years. We moved house through the woods four years ago and planted our vineyard in the adjacent paddock, whilst applying for organic status, which was granted in March 2023. This project kept us occupied during those early ‘lock-down’ months. It was, and still is, a whole family effort, attending courses and enlisting the help of friends when needed.

We are striving to produce wine that makes a difference to the environment and use a hands-on approach with minimal interference to the crop and the land.

We had our first harvest small in October 2022. Our 2023 vintage is now available, this has produced an delicious, clean, crisp and fragrant white wine which we are proud to offer for sale here.

Thank you for visiting our website and Looking forward to our 2023 harvest.

Sustainability

Our approach is all about ethical practices, being as kind to the environment as possible, with minimal intervention to the land and soil. We only spray when absolutely necessary and, of course, use no pesticides or herbicides.

Our bottles are made from 75% recycled glass and all our packaging is plastic-free. Bottle labels are printed on recycled paper.

The bottle caps are made biodegradable wood pulp. They shrink by 30% by simply drying out naturally , so no machinery or energy needed. We also offer and encourage a bottle return scheme, sterilising and re-using as many times as possible.
